In order to test the functionality, we need to first define an item in item master

Here Maturity Days means expiry date & Hold Days means the number of days a lot needs to be kept on hold before making it available for booking.

Create a Transaction. Navigate to Transactions > Miscellaneous Transaction

Give details as shown below

Go to Transaction Lines & give details as shown below

Try to save it & you’ll get following error

Give lot details for the items

You can give predefined Lot numbers by clicking on Generate Lot or else you can give your own lot number

Save the record & verify lot details

Navigate to On-hand, Availability > On-hand, Quantity

Enter search criteria

Click on find

Now we need to issue some items

Navigate to Transactions > Miscellaneous Transaction

Click on Transaction Lines

Click on Lot/Serial & give details as shown below

Note that we have not defined Lot3 initially. On defining it in Miscellaneous Transaction form, we’ll get following message

This is a functionality which Oracle has provided us in order to create, in runtime, a Lot of items whose characteristics have changed in due course. For example, those items which are found to be defective.

On saving the above form we will see that a new Lot has been created with total quantities as -7

Navigate to On-hand, Availability > On-hand, Quantity

Search for the item

You can see that the item is having -7 as On-hand quantity.

This -7 quantity needs to be adjusted from other 4 lots. This adjustment will be done during counting
