Sub Inventory Transfers and Inter Organization Transfer

Sub Inventory Transfers are used to transfer material from one sub Inventory to another sub Inventory. It is usually used for Adjustments whereas Move order is used for Physical transfer of Material.

 To Create a Sub Inventory Transfer. Navigate to  Transactions > Subinventory Transfer

Give type as Subinventory Transfer

& click on Transaction Lines

Give line details as shown below & click on Save

Now the Items have been transferred from Subinventory 1 to Subinventory 3

Inter Organization Transfers: It is used to transfer items between different inventory organizations. A Pre requisite for it is that an item must be assigned to both source & destination Inventory Organizations.

Before defining Inter Organization Transfer, it is mandatory to define Shipping Networks. In Order to do so, navigate to Setup > Organizations > Shipping Networks

Give details as shown below

Transfer Type: Intransit is used for Inter Organization Transfer of Items where as Direct are used for Inter Organization Adjustments

FOB (Freight on Board) : Receipt means that the source organization is responsible for delivery till destination whereas shipment means that destination organization is responsible for delivery

Now Navigate to Transactions > Inter-organization Transfer

Give Details as shown below

Note that Shipment number has to be unique across Entire Instance. Now click on Transaction Lines &
 give details as shown below

Here To Subinv field is left blank as we want Receiving Organization people to decide as to which subinventory they want to keep the goods in

Save the record. It means that items have been shipped out of Pune Organization.

Change the organization to Banglore

Navigate to Transactions > Receiving > Receipts

Give Shipment Number & click on find

Close the receipt header form

Check the Check box & give the Subinventory details

Save the record. Now check the On-Hand quantity for this Sub Inventory
